Boys need not have any previous musical experience. We are looking for keen, bright boys between the ages of seven and eleven, with a good level of general intelligence and the beginnings of a voice. A simple audition is given to test the musical skills and reading ability of any boy wishing to join the choir. Once accepted by the choir, boys receive a thorough training in musical theory and singing under the RSCM Chorister Training Scheme. Choristers also have the opportunity to enter for RSCM singing exams.
Adults should have some previous experience, though this is not always essential. A pleasant voice, enthusiasm and a willingness to attend regularly are the main qualities being sought, rather than extensive experience or sight-reading skills.
For further information or to enquire about becoming a choir member please get in touch with the Organist & Choirmaster.
